Second position is awesome. It may creep you out for your son (or for that matter, for me), but as a natural wing man I can tell you it’s very nice. And it gives you a fine launch pad for point position, should you really want it.

First, how about you and I invent something that suppresses wives’ impulse to generously offer husbands extended vacations? I made the exact same mistake (involving the same country–Trevor visited his brother in England last month)that you described here.
As for Caleb taking on his second child role elsewhere–maybe in different places and different contexts he will try on other roles. Think about how different we are as a student in a hard exercise class vs. when we are standing in front of students in the classroom. Maybe in kindergarten next year, he will have a posse, following his every move. You never know.
Finally, you deserve some sunshine. I am putting in an order with the weather gods immediately.
