maybe we don’t have to kill all the lawyers

Caleb returned from his first playdate at someone else’s house yesterday. His first off-site friend visit since we’ve moved here. In the car on the way home:

Caleb: Simo’s dad gives money away for his job.

Me (thinking philanthropy, grants office, fairy godfather): Really? What does he do?

Caleb: He’s a lawyer.

I’m thinking Caleb has confused “give” with “take.”

Maybe a lawyer for a philanthropic or business development org? Okay. I’m being overly optimistic here I guess. But yay for Caleb making off-site friends.

mmmm….yeah, overly optimistic. But yes, yay to caleb for venturing off the rez. Of course, he did call me from school (on the phone that belonged to the nanny of hte boy picking him up) to say he wanted to come home instead…I forced him to go. He had fun (and this way he has fodder for those sure-to-come therapy sessions when he hits his twenties).
