Malls as far as the eye can see…but what about a science museum?

Today in The National, I’m writing about the speed with which Abu Dhabi is growing: everywhere you look, there are construction sites, cranes, earthmovers.  But the construction seems dedicated to malls and apartment buildings…I’m wondering whether someone couldn’t design a children’s science museum?  When it’s 44C in the shade, wouldn’t it be great to take the kids “science-ing” instead of shopping?  Click here to read the article–and let the newspaper hear your comments!

You might find Sharjah Museums has some answers for you, after all only a 90 minute drive from Federal Capital to Cultural Capital, take E311, or even E611!

You know, I have yet to get to Sharjah! We missed the art fair this year–stupid of us, I know–and we keep meaning to get there but just…haven’t yet. But now I’m going to make sure that it’s on our early fall “to do” list!

To be exact: 44C is hot like a sumbitch: 111F. And no, it’s not a “dry heat,” but wet, sticky, humid. Like putting your hand in the dryer before the clothes are done. Blech.
