A Night At The Museum

Last Friday night, Husband and I took Caleb to the Brooklyn Museum, which, if you don’t know, is open late on Friday nights and is delightful. There’s no one there–I felt like a robber baroness walking around my own private collection of pilfered riches from the old world.

It was a night of culture, of reflecting on the art and practice of ancient cultures, which still speak to us so profoundly today:

We saw paintings that inspired and moved us:

And after years of seeing it only in books, I finally saw Judy Chicago’s “Dinner Party,” her celebration of thousands of years of female creativity, including this place setting for Mary Wollstonecraft:

The word for today is Art. Find it wherever you can, even in Ancient Egyptian porn.
